Complete transformation of a worn-out flat felt roof. We stripped the roof back to the deck, removed all damaged materials, installed new roof boarding, underlay and a high-performance torch-on felt roofing system, leaving the property with a strong, durable and fully weatherproof finish. Complete restoration of a large external balcony wall, from the front balcony right up to the roofline. All loose and deteriorated render was carefully removed before the masonry was cleaned and treated. A new two-coat render system was then applied, consisting of a scratch coat followed by a finishing coat, creating a strong, durable and weather-resistant surface. Once fully cured, the wall was finished with premium exterior masonry paint for long-lasting protection and a clean, modern appearance. To provide additional waterproofing, a high-performance torch-on felt membrane was installed over the coping stones, preventing water penetration and helping to protect the wall from future weather damage. Complete new pitched roof installation using Redland 49 roof tiles. The existing roof was fully stripped back, with all old tiles, battens and underlay removed before the roof structure was prepared for its new covering. A high-performance breathable roofing membrane was installed, followed by new treated timber battens and brand-new Redland 49 concrete roof tiles. New lead flashings were fitted around abutments and finished with a rendered chase for a clean, weatherproof seal. The project was completed with a maintenance-free dry ridge system and new guttering, providing excellent ventilation, long-term durability and outstanding protection against the elements. Complete balcony waterproofing and restoration project. The existing tiled balcony had been incorrectly installed, with tiles bonded directly onto a fibreglass surface using an unsuitable adhesive. As the adhesive could not properly bond to the fibreglass, water penetrated beneath the tiles and became trapped, leading to extensive water ingress. The original fibreglass upstands were also installed too low beneath the coping stones, allowing rainwater to track behind the system and into the property, causing severe leaks and internal damage.
Our team completely stripped the balcony back to the structure, removing the failed waterproofing system and damaged materials. We installed new marine-grade plywood decking, followed by a high-performance waterproofing membrane. The tiles were then re-laid using a flexible S1 tile adhesive designed for external applications. New cement upstands were formed to provide a robust waterproof detail, while the coping stones and upstands were finished with a solar-reflective protective coating to improve durability, reduce heat absorption and extend the lifespan of the waterproofing system. The result is a fully watertight, long-lasting balcony built to withstand the elements.
